Replying to: KarenS (Feb 21, 2008 10:08 am) the author states that this 2009 Dodge Ram pickup is the first American pickup with coil springs in the rear. That, however, is not true. Many years ago I owned a 1967 Chevrolet C20 pickup that had coil springs in the rear, and along with them the longest control arms I have ever seen! In that year the leaf spring suspension was optional and was the preferred setup. Having driven several with rear leafs, I can see why. The coil suspensions were sloppy and weak. I can't say they rode better, either.   The new RAM coil set up looks like a far better design. Of course, in my opinion anyone that buys a truck and expects it to ride like a car, should buy...a car.   Dusty
