The world is changing and the 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 is going to arrive right in the middle of it. The sales of pickup trucks slid downward 13.2 percent during 2007, and every smarty-pants on television wants to blame the pickup for global warming.

It is an awesome truck, awesome video and it rocks out too! Dodge should simply make this their television sales promotion, its that good.

the author states that this 2009 Dodge Ram pickup is the first American pickup with coil springs in the rear. That, however, is not true. Many years ago I owned a 1967 Chevrolet C20 pickup that had coil springs in the rear, and along with them the longest control arms I have ever seen!

So much for "expert auto journalists."

Yep. My '71 Chevy had coils, too. In that year the leaf spring suspension was optional and was the preferred setup. Having driven several with rear leafs, I can see why. The coil suspensions were sloppy and weak. I can't say they rode better, either.

The new RAM coil set up looks like a far better design. Of course, in my opinion anyone that buys a truck and expects it to ride like a car, should buy...a car.
