Hi folks, I just joined edmunds today. I want to discuss something with you guys i.e the new 2008 Land Cruiser is worth being called a luxury car. My friend just broth a new LC 2008 and what he says it is just any normal SUV. I think Toyota LC is now going towards power rather than luxury. That is exactly what Nissan did with it's Nissan Patrol. The Qatari's are pretending to go crazy about it. I have a Qatari friend and what he told me is that the LC is not power full and he just said all the bad things about the Land Cruiser. I was like than why did you buy it, why did you not buy the Nissan Patrol. He said to live in Qatar you must have a Land Cruiser if you wanna be respected, but in Dubai only Nissan Patrol. It is not like I hate Land Cruiser I love it it's standard in everything. So what do you guys think does the LC 2008 deserve to be called a Luxury SUV? Replying to: muneebaqeel (Feb 16, 2008 12:03 pm) Welcome to CarSpace.   Edmunds sorts out SUVs by various categories, including luxury. Of the 34 SUVs Edmunds calls "luxury," the Land Cruiser isn't on the list. Here's the link   No Nissans made that list either.   Infiniti and Lexus are well represented however.   Edmunds is geared for the North American market so who knows how the list would shake out in your part of the world.   Drive what you like.

When Toyota released the LC 2006-2007 they have always showed it for luxury. Right?? But now they are showing for a total off-road vehicle. I am not saying that they ended all that luxury there is still many of the luxury appointments. The Toyota company added many. But it did not gain luxury higher than the normal 2007 LC. They added intelligent key, they put a new close position for the third row seat, put crawl control, but this is not luxury yes more features but not luxury. They kept all the windows auto. That is great. But there showing as a off-road exactly what Nissan had in it's mind like the Nissan Patrol. If Edmund's calls the LC 2006 Luxury the should also consider the Nissan Patrol. Replying to: muneebaqeel (Feb 17, 2008 11:10 pm) Yes i guess buy what u like but this site really helps, example i never knew bmw's were unreliable until i read posts here,   well a cruiser can never be very luxury if it gets very than whats the use of a lexus line up?   I Dont know why edmunds dont call the niss patrol luxury many it's not very famous world wide as the cruiser is.   and honestly i myself dont consider nissan a luxury, off road is very capable but then thats a different story

Just return from combat duty in Iraq and yes I have a 08 Land Cruiser and yes it is a luxury SUV. I have a 03 Tacoma 4x4, had a 02 4Runner Limited. Great LC by far and I love it.   CW3nola (New Orleans, LA)
