This is my first metallic painted car. (Mazda3 s Touring in Phantom Blue Mica) I want to keep it looking as beautiful as the day I drove it off the lot.
Does anyone know if there are any "DO'S and DON'TS for cars of such color? Certain type of soap, wax, interior cleaners or anything else you can suggest.
Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Another great source of information (whether you buy their products or not) is Zaino. This is a mail-order only source of high end synthetic polishes and accessories. You can easily spend an hour just researching products and techniques. A couple of their themes are: first treatment must be stripped down to the clear coat, removing all embedded impurities and foreign objects stuck in the clear coat. This means first washing with a high detergent soap, then clay barring, then multiple coats of polish followed by sealer or glaze. I've used it and it really works but it takes one whole weekend to get the car prepped and first coats of polish applied. However, once you have it protected with this system, it is very easy to maintain. You hand wash with low-detergent soap then wipe down with detailer spray and it looks like you just polished it. I have a black mica MS3 which is probably the hardest color to keep looking nice and this system works great.
