Hi, I have been reading and reading and more reading, till I have a migrane. The Van has been running fine the mileage is up to 206,000 timing belt should be good till 250,000. Here it is. My 97 Quest without any known reason why will no longer start. I'm guessing it is something electronic like the anti-theft as my back door at times does not want to close completly and I am Guessing it tripped the antitheft interupter which will prevent the car from starting, anways, one fine day I drive the Van about 4 miles and park it for about an hour I turn the key and nothing happens. I let it sit for 7 hours it starts and I drive it home. I drive it one day after that no problem the next day I turn the key nothing happens again. It sits there for 2 days with me checking fuses, hooking up jumper cables, pulled the antitheft interruption relay, and during the time of doing this now the front ac blower is running and the lights to the AC do not come on I push buttons and nothing happens, I pulled the 65 amp fuse under the hood and that keeps the blower off. I know it could be a hundred things. I am broke, I just lost my job. So I really need to hit the bullseye here. I'm thinking about replacing the positive cable to the battery and the module that is connected to the positive cable, I really don't know and the stress level is rising. Lord help me Sorry so long of a story. If anyone has any ideas on where to start with a very limited budget I would really be grateful. I can do repairs here at the house replacing starter and things like that. I have no idea where any of the sensors are. I went to the parts store and they don't carry the book, the nearest Nissan dealership will not help out over the phone and it's 30 miles away. I will check out the library tommarow. So any ideas, suggestions good and bad, url links and well any help please. Thank You Scott

Replying to: poetofdemorest (Feb 08, 2008 2:57 pm) Your library may have the factory manual online (link). I don't know about the Quest but my Outback has a messed up security system and there's a little button under the dash I have to press to start it now and bypass the immobilizer thing. I guess I should check my '99 Quest manual in case that happens to it too - it's a real pain. But starting after sitting there indicates that the immobilizer probably isn't the issue.
