#1 of 5 evaporator causing water in the back seat

I have a 2003 matrix and recently we have spotted water on the floor carpet on the back right hand seat (behind copilot seat). At first we thought it was me leaving the window open but it has happened without any rain
we took it to our local dealer and they think that is the evaporator that is located in the right hand side of the dash - to find out if that is true that would cost around $700 . That seems rather expensive just to "see" if that is the error. Does anybody has any idea what the problem could be? Or if any non-toyota dealer could fix it at a more economical rate?
Thanks a lot!

Check to see that the evaporator drain isn't clogged, most likely cause of your problem.
But you should also check to make sure you don't have water sloshing in your doors, if so, there are drains at the bottom of the doors that are clogged.
Check also that you don't have any debris/water sloshing under your windshield, engine compartment side.
Clogged drains on sunroofs can also cause water inside the vehicle.
Just fyi, when heater cores start to leak, the leak radiator coolant in the passenger side floor as well, but it typically smells.

Please help me also. I am having problems with the evaporator. The mechanic said that it is because of the evaporator and he wants me to pay for a very big amount. I can't afford it so I have to do it myself. Bought a new evaporator because it is cheaper if I buy it all by myself than had it fix by a mechanic. Thanks in advance.
