Residuals for the most part with Nissan/Infiniti are fiction. My M35X is up in August--I would gladly give it back NOW. The residual value on my lease is $27K. The car TODAY is worth about $16K. Infiniti had 6 chances to fix the vibration issue in my car which still is not fixed. They offered me a financial reimbursement which they have yet to pay off on. They would rather take the car back and lose their shirt at auction than give the lessee right of first refusal at adjusted prices. I also find it quite interesting that only Infiniti is sitting on a large quantity of 2008 cars in inventory--much more than any other brand (luxury). I believe they delayed the 2009 intro until the number was down (Dec-Jan time frame?)...so that tells you the brand is struggling. To the poster considering a BMW, JUMP on it. Me? I am waiting for the newest Lexus hybrids to come out in the summer time....but I am also going to take a hard look at the new Acura TL--SHAWD...it's amazing. Good luck.

Would not drive straight due to inherent trammeling discussed in all Infiniti boards. Driving daughter's 2006 VW Jetta GLS until 2009 Audi A4 2.0 with sports suspension arrives next month. Jetta drives and rides 1000% better than M35X and uses 1/3 the gas. Audi is smaller, expensive, less gizmo's but rides and drives like a luxury car should. Rear seats fold down so I can take a ski trip for the weekend. 28 mpg on highway. I loved Pepe Infiniti but the G's were too small and no more M's for me. Considered FX-35 but another ugly gas hog load. Acura TL 4 wheel another ugly eyesore. Caddy CTS was not leasing from GMAC and no backup camera available. No cheap when loaded. Image a little Mafia or Miami for me. Cheap gas has not made me forget the $80.00 fill ups to drive nowhere.

My 3 year lease is about up on my '06 M35. I would like to buy the car, but when I spoke to somebody from Infinity lease they said the residual price ($26.9k) was non-negotiable on our closed-end lease. I did go over some on the mileage (10k) so I will have to deal with that, too. If I buy the car will I have to deal with any overages? I don't think I would have to.

Just to let you all know, Nissan/Infiniti Corporate has proven to be as untrustworthy as consumer affairs. I spoke to CA about my ongoing case with my M35x and they refused to give me what was promised (one month payment and reimbursement for tires I should not have paid for). I escalated through three supervisors and wound up at Nissan corporate, who told me once an offer is made it CANNOT be retracted, and that he had the power to overrule the region. The same individual called me back the next day and also refused to give me what was offered, saying he spoke to the region who would not budge...so the bottom line is that Nissan/Infiniti lies to customers and has no interest in either repairing my car or in ongoing customer satisfaction. I believe my next step WILL be small claims court. I will keep you posted, but buyer beware--do NOT buy or lease another Infiniti. |

After all, that's what the dealer will throw at you when you want to trade. Or, do an advanced search on ebay for completed items only. This will show what was actually paid - what the market is willing to pay for an item. If items didn't sell, why look at them? |

Hi, My lease on an Infiniti M35 is almost over. During the lease inspection, a small chip/crack was noted on the windshield, and the inspector said the windshield needs to be replaced. On the inspection report, the excess wear/use charge for the windshield replacement is listed as $750. The report shows the windshield as "lane departure", but I do not have the lane departure feature on my car. I have heard that when returning a lease, it is better to just pay the excess wear/use fee in a case like this because the fee will be less than getting the windshield replaced. The strange thing though is that I can get the windshield replaced for much less than $750, even at the dealer. So now I'm thinking the inspector made a mistake when listing the windshield as a lane departure windshield. I did confirm with the dealer that the replacement of a lane departure windshield would cost over a $1000. Does anyone know what the lease return excess use/fee should be for a windshield replacement on a 2007 M35? Is it correct that the excess wear/use fee is typically less than what it would cost me to get the windshield replaced? Thanks.
