Chevrolet Aveo5 hatchback remodel is pretty good. Aesthetically pleasing to the eye with no reason to put it down at all. The taillights look remodeled at bit, too, with that semi-circle at the bottom of them looking a bit different.

My old 1988 Lemans (Daewoo) had the 1.6 SOHC engine which I know carried over for many year. I believe the current model is the same though it was beefed up block wise for durability and quietness not to mention the DOHC added. Is this next generation engine which claims to get 8% better mpg the same engine block now with just VVT added?

I think i might wait for the 2009 aveo. But its not easy to pass up all those discounts on the 2008 aveo. 1000.00 cash back and the 0% rate.
when will the 2009 aveo be out? I made a wishlist for aveo on my tivo hd to record any show with aveo in it. I hope its on motor week soon.
motorweek only got 25 mpg from the 2008 aveo when they test drove it.

Check out this link...it shows the ordering times for Chevrolet Aveos and other models. While it doesn't say exactly when they will be release, it may give an insight to that question.

By the way, 25 MPG City is what I got on the 05 Aveo 5-door that I had, 30-31 MPG highway.

I just filled up on mine tonight......I went 216 miles and it took 6.5 gallons to fill it back up.... That is driving around Dallas and Plano, Tx. and driving back and forth to work this week...

My 99 Chevy Malibu with a 2.4 gets over 32 mpg on the highway. Aveo should be able to do better then that. but my Malibu gets about 16mpg in city driving. And I rarely get on the highway now. i drive 50 miles a week now:)

Was that their city figure? When they tested it last season the Nissan Versa was the only one with slighly lower mpg. Two seasons ago the Aveo won their shoot out vs. the Toyota Echo, Scian XA, and a Kia model. It was an overall win not based on mpg but all features. I remember them saying the Aveo was the best commuter car with ride, handling, interior, etc. The MotorWeek achives probably still has the information.

Interesting. I sat in an Aveo for the first time a few weeks ago and my first impression of the interior was, Wow, these seats are comfortable.
