Anybody know if they put a low maintenance timing chain in the new engine rather than a high maintenance time belt? This is only thing that kept me from buying prior to the '09. Jerry

New here, may go for a 2010, does the 1.6 have a timing belt or chain also side molding looks good & protects ?

12 months trouble free motoring from my new Aveo but now it is a nightmare. Lights come on without warning when the car is unattended - all switches off. Doors unlock themselves overnight . Four times in the past 2 months the battery has completely lost its charge and has been replaced twice, as apparently the gel batteries only hold charge for about 4 months after having completely gone dead. The boot lock has been replaced - each time the car has been returned with an assurance that all is now working perfectly and there are no leaks. The road side assistance people says these gremlins are a common occurence and difficult to solve. Has any one out there had any similar problems with their Aveo?
