In Texas, assuming average miles and RWD - one should get around $27k + 1k with Navigation.

Well, considering I paid 9K more and have only had it for six months, that's kinda sad. Not that I'm looking to sell it, but was just wondering. Do you mean that figure as retail or trade?

Trade. Retail would be around $4k more or so. You lose the most the day you drive off the lot. I would not worry about it, things will balance later.

Sticker was about $43.5K for 2008 AWD Journey with Premium, 18" wheels/articulating head lights, Lux Style, mud guards, cargo cover. White w/black leather. Discounted to about $36.5K, and traded a 2002 325i with over 100,000 miles for $5,900. 42 month lease is $420/mo (15K miles/year) including 10% PA monthly lease tax. They offered me a buy on the car for just over $33K, but I didn't want to be in the $600 monthly payment range. Didn't qualify for cash-for-clunkers since my BMW got 21 mpg. I think this was good deal, as I got nearly six grand off the sticker on a lease, and they gave me a better price than everyone else offered for my trade.

I like the car. It has a small back seat and the cargo area is smallish, but I knew that going in, and it's the trade-off for it being a relatively small crossover with decent gas mileage, great power, and exceptional handling.

I look at it this way: with the 18" wheels and relatively agressive stock tires, there is nothing on the road that will out handle this car that has a hatch, is bigger, and has all-weather capability. I've driven many X3's as loaners when I had my 3-series, and they do not handle any better on the stock tires than my EX. The X5, CX-9, and MDX are all roomier, but they feel heavier, take up way more room in my garage, and can't out hustle the EX through turns. Also, the CX-9 is not in this class for luxury/refinement, and the X5/MDX cost $5-10K more out the door for the same equipment. Oh, and BMW stereos and tech interfaces are awful compared to the ones in my EX.

So,...for all that, I'll squish my smallish kids in the back seat for their 10 minute drives to ball games, and pile stuff on top of my golf clubs in the cargo area when I go shopping. It is hard to give up a BMW once you have one, but this car is overall better than an X3, and it costs way, way, less comparably equipped than either an X3 or a 3-series wagon (which usually has to be custom ordered). And, it looks better than an X3 too.

That sounds like a very good deal. I still love the way mine drives and rides and since we're basically "empty nesters" the lack of leg room is a minor annoyance. I'm even getting used to the back up camera and extremely large rear view mirrors. The comfort truly makes up for it. And a road trip I am getting about 27 at 70-75 average mph.

anyone has idea about when 2010 ex is coming out? also, is $7000 off MSRP a good deal on 2009 ex? I've seen people here getting $10000 off MSRP before but don't know if it is possible to get this kind of deal on the 09 ex, it seems that even the biggest infiniti dealer doesn't have many 2009 ex in stock, is it because it just came out recently or simply the poor sales number of 2008 holds the dealers back from stocking too many of them, any opinion is appreciated

We expect our first 2010 in October. And yes, $7000 off MSRP on a 2009 is a good deal - we finished #1 in the Nation for August and we only had 6 EX's on the lot till today - got 3 more.

Assuming it has a MSRP around $39,200 or so - $33,000 sounds right in the ballpark. That works out to a few hundred over invoice - $4000 dealer cash to get you to $33,000. The best price I would give someone right now on an EX with Nav is $33,536 - we are very short of EX's right now.
