Well, they made the leather and the aluminum roof rails standard equipment. Last year they had a "Base" model (that supposedly didn't really exist on dealer lots) that had a cloth interior and the Journey version brought the leather. Now they've got a higher base price but the Journey brings items like the coat hanger on the drivers seat and the maple wood trim that were in packages or a la carte options in the first year of production.

Let me add that I think this is a much better, and simpler, way to set up the options for this model. I just wish that some of niceties like Luxury Elite leather were still on the options menu. I dislike when car makers pull options after a single model year. I also think lumping the Bose stereo in with the Navigation is an attempt to increase the take rate on the latter and contrary to the way that Nissan/Infiniti usually packages premium audio. Including the around view monitor system as a no cost add in with the Nav/Bose package is just short of brilliant and a real value add, it starts to get hard to say no to Nav with it gives Bose, Around View and the Sonar parking sensors in the bundle too.

All in all though, this is a much more coherent, simple (and as you noted...less costly for a "full boat" car) option scheme.

I am trying to buy a 2008 EX35 and I would like to know what would be the best OTD for this car. It listed 41.5K. Since this is a last year model and its one of last 2 EX for the dealer.... I really appreciate if anyone can tell me the best purchasing price for this car. Thank you.

I think OTD price should be 34.5k to 35.5k. Two months ago, the dealer wanted OTD price 35.5k (MSRP = 41.5K), but i walked away. To me, EX35 just woth about 33.5k OTD for 2008. I CHANGED MY MIND NOW. I am looking for the Venza V6.

I just least an 2008 EX35...I'm sorry I did. Three things that need attention, 1) blind spots. When backing up, its difficult to measure distance. 2) bad on gas. It get's 16 miles to the gallon. I would prefer 20+. 3) Rear seats, no space for passengers.

It rides & drives great, but it needs to be re-engineered.

So they held a gun to your head and made you sign the papers.

Yes- my wife put the gun to my head. After a month of driving it around, she now agrees w/me. I like Infiniti's, they're nice cars, but we should of purchased an Acura or Honda, they're designed better.

It your money...you choose.

It's too bad you didn't take the time to research the car before you bought it. I drove many cars, and a number of EXs at different dealerships before I decided to purchase one. I was lucky enough to drive one that a friend had leased, too, so got to drive on the freeway and without the pressure that a salesman can put out sitting beside you as you test drive. The car is perfect for me. I am single, and occasionally have guests who spill over into the back. No one has complained. All my friends love my car, and want me to drive when we car pool somewhere. It's fun, and fast, and unique. The lines are beautiful, so it is a delight on the eyes as well. Depending upon my driving habits my mileage varies; it's up to me to get the best I can. I do not commute, so am fortunate to be able to plan "no car" days into my week where I only walk. I am a caterer, and formerly drove a Subaru Outback. I have been pleasantly surprised to be able to fit lots more equipment and materials when catering a party than I thought I would. The hatch back is so large I was able to load an entire bathroom sink cabinet in there, and the guy from Home Depot who assisted me was shocked, saying the cargo area was as large as his Jeep Cherokee. And I take lots more road trips now, the car is a dream out on the open road. The only cars that dare pass me are Porsches and Priuses, ha ha...it is my favorite car of my live, and I have no regrets. When spending that amount of money it only pays to take more time to decide what you want rather than to make an impulse buy.

I get the wife thing.... Sometimes, it doesn't matter about research, negotiating, etc, etc..

She wants what she wants..

But, if it's her car (mostly), I'd learn to keep your feelings to yourself about the vehicles supposed shortcomings... maybe, she'll get to used to it!

It's only been a month... The EX does have some outstanding attributes.... gobs of power is one of them...

i was doubled talked when I put a d/p on this car, had time to re-think..and never wound up buying one. A month or so later, I bought the FX35. Best car Ive ever owned. Im glad that deal never went thru. I wouldve hated that car. No offense to current owners.

Also, compared to some of the aforementioned vehicles (MDX, CRV) I personally like the way my EX looks in comparison. Cars tend to be an expression of one's personality, and of course, everyone is different, but despite the lack of back seat legroom and some blind spot issues, I'm still enjoying this crossover. Incidentally, I'm getting about 21 MPG combined city/highway.
