This is my first lease - or buy and i am very new to this - so far i have got the ex35 with nav/tech/prem wood cargo cover for 35,756 - with 15000 miles residual at 22,087.50 - from ct dealer - i get very confused at dealer price - invoice price - after reading edmunds and consumer reports and then you go for that lower price and they all just laugh so i am now down to just playing them all of each other - not cool but i got to pay for this sweet car- also no one seems to have an idea about the leaking sun roof so i thought that interesting after reading the blogs
what should i be asking for ?

A couple of weeks ago, my wife and I purchased an 08 EX-35 Journey AWD with premium/nav/wood/splash guards/cargo protector/destination charge for $34,266 plus TTL. According to Edmunds, this was $262 above invoice ($39,004), less the $5,000 manufacturer to dealer cash which was passed on to us. Don't know whether it was a good or not so good deal, but having bought another car for me a month or so ago I was shopped out. Straightforward give and take negotiation. Great car, no problems for the first 600 miles and averaging 21+ MPG so far.

Has anyone bought an EX recently? How much did you pay?
When does will the '09 EX show up at dealers?

I just bought my EX and pick it up Saturday...Journey AWD with premium,Navi,Tech pkg, Lux Style, Splash guards, Wood Trim, Roof Rails and Crossbars, Cargo area protector. The sticker price was $46325. I paid $36350 not including tax, license ,etc.
I will say I probably could have gotten a few more hundred off if I wanted to drive a little further. I had three dealers and a couple of them were almost pleading with me to "tell them what it would take" to buy the car. I felt I got a fair deal so I'm happy.

I was getting our G35 serviced and looked at several cars in the showroom. Asked about the EX since my wife originally wanted one instead of the G. the salesperson stated to me there will not be an 09' model offered, but Infiniti was going to launch an early 2010 model addressing the lack of rear seat leg room.

Now, this is what I was told in a five minute conversation in passing, take it for what it's worth.

My dealer tells me the $5000 is only applicable to a cash purchase, and doesn't apply to a lease or a financed transaction. Can you confirm?

That's silly. Cash should have nothing to do with it. The dealer gets their money any which way you slice it. If you were to go to your credit union and get a loan for the car and deliver the check to the dealer, that is the same as paying them cash.

It's possible that IFS has low APR financing available (0.9%?) that wouldn't be compatible with the $5K cash back...

But, certainly, if you provided your own financing, you could take advantage of it..

Only Volvo has weird rules like that...

It's not applicable on a lease but is on a financed car. You wont get the low APR if you get the $5,000 but you can still finance it anywhere you want. I did finance mine at the dealer. He went a little under my credit union.
