Buick LaCrosse Fuel Gauge issues? by mfoland

I just purchased a 2005 Buick LaCrosse - I love it and am so happy I decided to go with that over the Grand Prix - but I can not figure out why when I fill it up with gas the fuel gauge does not read that it is full. The gas pumps always shut off and I am unable to squeeze anymore gasoline in the car but the gauge always reads between 3/4 of a tank and full. Has anybody else had this problem?

I remember that the newer Mustangs had a refueling issue where you had to position the gas pump handle just right to fill the tank or the back pressure would keep shutting down the pump. Have you tried rotating the gas pump handle in different positions?

Congrats on your purchase. I love my 2006 CXS. So far 20000 problem-free miles.
