I'm buying a 1991 Fleetwood, but want to verify the towing capacity prior to purchasing. I've heard anywhere from 2,000lbs to 7,000lbs. I need to tow at least 3,500lbs. I always wanted a Caddy and I'm stuck on buying the vehicle because I need it to tow as well. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Replying to: awooooga1 (Jan 04, 2008 5:13 pm) I have a 1990 brochure. With the towing package up to 5000 lbs could be towed. The towing package included the 5.7 liter V8. I think that this may have been the case in 1991.   The later 1994 through 1996 models with the towing package could tow 7000 lbs.   Without a towing package I do not know the upper limit.

Replying to: awooooga1 (Jan 04, 2008 5:13 pm) The 93 Fleetwood Rear Wheel Drive (350 cid/5.7L engine) tows 5,000 Lbs without the tow package (as per the owners manual). I've towed a 1500 lb camper coast to coast 3 times without a problem (other than 15 MPG while towing). Towing 3500 lbs you can expect less (12 or 13 mpg if you keep the speed at 65 or lower). I just recently purchased a 93, but I could not find in the owners manual the 5000 pound towing capacity you mentioned. I wonder if we have the same owners manual. What page did you locate that information? I was hoping to tow a 3100 pound trailer with it, but all I keep finding is the towing capacity of 7000 pounds with the trailer towing package. Mine does not have this. I even contacted Cadillac and they still haven't got back to me on this.
