#1 of 5 Where to buy: New England or DC/MD

I'm planning to buy a 2008 Honda CR-V EX-L without Nav in June immediately before or just after moving to Boston from DC. Anyone have suggestions on best state to buy in?
Options:
MD
VA
DC
MA
NH
VT
Car would be registered and titled in Massachusetts. Not sure if there is a grace period if bought in MD/DC/VA and then driven up within 1-4 weeks to register in MA. Would I then need to pay additional taxes?
Thanks in advance,
E

You will probably need to find MA DMV book and find out what the taxation rules are. Some states don't tax vehicles brought from other states when registering in the new state, some tax if the vehicle is less than 6 months old, and some tax if the vehicle is less than 12 months old. So, by buying somewhere else and paying local tax, you are in going to be double taxed in MA, if they charge sales tax again, because the vehicle is too new.

Good call. MA DMV taxes at 5% of purchase price for all vehicles purchase outside of state within 6 months...
