I just purchased a CX7 GT today and during the closing when the manager was talking about the extended warranty, he recommended the Simoniz System5 for paint and interior surface protection for up to 5 years. The System is quite expensive - $499 - and I did not purchase it. The manager and sales person highly recommended it, claiming I would not have to wax the car for 5 years. Replying to: dep68 (Dec 28, 2007 8:17 pm) Don't be roped in by those add-ons. Dealers will try to tack on lots of extras that aren't worth the money. You can do a better job by waxing your car with a good grade of wax. As for the interior, you can get a good quality fabric/leather protectant, that works equally well. I've seen some owner's manuals that just say to wash the car now and then (some do recommend occasional waxing).   Mr_Shiftright, "Teflon Paint Sealants Revisited" #7, 10 Jul 2003 9:33 am   Hard to resist shining up a brand new car I know, but you'll get over it after a couple of years.   "Mop & Glow" is a big profit center for the dealer.
