hope that when I turn this one in in two years the car will have a 7 speed transmision and more torque, and hopefully we can get better gas mileage.

The 2009 G37 Sedan, being released in Europe, has a 7-speed tranny, a little more power, and better gas milage. Otherwise, it looks identical and the brochure even uses the same pictures of the G35.
No absolute confirmation on if or when the US may see the same model.

Need to read your manual thoroughly. There are fog lamps - they're integrated into the headlight housing; not very effective.

I agree, I HATE the CD changer location. I don't EVER use a CD changer either, total waste. Most new cars now have an in dash CD changer, this one really hurts getting things into the trunk. The CD ripping is slow, but I stopped using the Music Box anyway. I HATE the fact that I cannot search for songs while in motion, ruins it for me on the highway. I just ripped all my songs into .mp3s and put them on a 4GB memory card and use that. Easier to find and choose songs and you can do it while driving.

I do love my car, there are minor things that irritate me, like the cd changer and the slowness of the hard drive when is ripping.
Hey I came down from an M35X and I'm happier with my G but I bet everybody feels the same about the changer and the hard drive. By the time I fill the 9 gigs my lease will be up LOL.

Mods for a more aggressive styling... by vik_kid

I’m now a proud owner of a 2008 G35XS. This is where I shift the gear from car buying to the more exhilarating car modding gear. If I do end up with some mods, it would be my first time, so I can use all the help I can get … here’s my wishlist.
1. I used to own a coupe and loved the roar of the engine... so my first mod should be something that gives a deeper tone to the engine's voice. What should I do to achieve this?

2. A more aggressive hood. Perhaps just an add-on hood scoop? My fear though is that it might interfere with the dynamics of the car... I’m even open to replacing the entire hood if necessary, but again will it affect the dynamics/handling of the car otherwise?

3. This baby has great bucket seats, really neat graphite leather. But lately I’ve been craving for a red/black combo sport seat... Initially I was thinking of seat covers, but then what happens to the perforations, the seat heater and all.... SO now I'm lost, is there anything I could do, short of replacing the seats, to get a dash of red on my cars interior(seats, steering wheel etc..)?

4. I love the styling of the coupe headlight(as well as the taillights) any way for me to get these swapped?? Has anybody been crazy enough to have any such mods done?

Id love to hear from you guys. I love the car, the acceleration, the supreme handling and all... but I still think it doesn’t look aggressive enough. Please let me know what you think of my wishlist items. If anybody has any pics of their mods(appearance), I'd be thrilled to take a peek.

I come from a different camp on this, but appreciate your opinion. To me, the G35xS is close to perfect as is. Any car could use a little more power, a little more braking, etc., but I think this car hits the mark better than any, especially considering the price. I find the body styling racy enough as is and the lines flow together so well, any body mods would be overkill (IMO). I have the rear spoiler and at times even think that may detract from the lines. The exhaust sound is more muted than the coupe, but under acceleration has enough sound to remind you it is a sports sedan. I agree on the graphite interior - it is a great look. The red sporty inserts would actually add some color to the fairly dark interior, but would be a tough after market add.

In the end, it is a rare car that can straddle the sports/luxury sedan line. this car does it without giving up too much in one area - too many mods would push it over to a car which stand alone right now when compared to anything in it's price point. I think mods are better placed on a car which has left more openings - this one does leave many.

I've also been bitten by the "Mod Bug" but I'm not going to go to the same extreme. I honestly don't like the look of fake spoilers and some of the body kits are a little over the top for my liking. If you are interested, there are plenty of body kit options, but plan on paying a few bucks for them. Nismo, Kenstyle and Impul... to name a few.
I won't go that route but I do like the Nismo front lip and will put one on someday... once the $500- price comes down a bit.

For me, I want a more aggressive sound but I also want to keep the luxury edge on this vehicle. If I wanted something less, I would have spent less and gotten an EVO or an STI. I love the car but I wanna tweak it to make it mine, and to be a bit more aggressive than every other G on the road.

I've already swapped out my interior bulbs for super-white LEDs and I installed some OEM Infiniti paddles, since the 07 didn't come with them in the X.
Next on the list are 19" wheels, Fast Intentions Exhaust with high flow cats, a long tube CA Intake or a Pop Charger, and I'll be having the windows ceramic tinted in a few weeks.

G35xS suspension by sloquark

The xS is a blast on a test drive but how is the car for day to day commuting? I had a car with a tight suspension that had an 80 mph sweet spot. Anything speed less did not feel right. I like a car that feels as good at 50 as it does at 100 so that I can enjoy it all conditions. How does the S feel on a long, steady drive?
