I think the G35xS rides the line between sport and comfortable ride better than most cars in it's class. It is very good over irregular roads where cars more tightly sprung become jittery and harsh. They have dialed in a ride which can be comfortable for cruising and also not cause concern when taking a highway exit at "higher than posted" speeds. That all being said, it is still not going to thrill like a sports car in curves and does have some roll and bulk compared to a more true sports cars (like my previous M3). But it is not trying to that car and the ability to act tame when needed comes closest to being two cars in one, but with a usable backseat, excellent electronics's and fit and finish rivaling the previous standard bearers.

This car rides great at any speed, I have had many cars, and like I had said before I came down from an M35X, and I truly love this car. Even if it has a couple of things that bug me like the CD changer, and the slow recording time for the hard drive.
Buy it you'll never regret it.

For those who question the handling of the G35X, I run Pirelli P-Zero Nero tires in the summer and the car is transformed. From a good handling smooth riding car, with the Pirellis it becomes a great handling smooth riding car. I am running 245/45/18's all around and I have not dropped the suspension. I feel it unnecessary for everyday driving.
I will be due to replace my car in about a year when she will have about 100K miles and I can't wait to get a new G35X. Hopefully Infiniti will install their 7 speed automatic, that's the only improvement left to make on these cars.

Took delivery of mine 5 days ago - too early really to give an in-depth review. I traded my '05 G35x w/prem&nav for the '08 G35xS prem/nav/sport (no tech). First impressions:
Backup camera is VERY cool! Already saved my fat from the fire.
Hi-tech stuff is jam-packed into this thing - my lease will be up before I learn how to use all of it.
The voice recognition is dead-on accurate - once I know the command, it will make the tech stuff more user-friendly.
When reading the manual(s), Canadians got MANY more voice commands than US buyers. My dealer said that '07 nav systems (which had more commands) US feedback to Infiniti said "us" Americans got too confused, so they changed the voice systems to fewer commands. For instance, in the '08 model I can tell the climate control to turn off or on or turn on satellite radio. Canadians can tell the system to come on and make it 73 degrees and change the audio to XM 54. I wish Infiniti could allow me to be as intelligent as a Canadian and have those detailed options
. I'm NOT happy with the restrictions/"dumbing down" of the US voice commands! I want that flexibility!
These thing said: I really, REALLY like the new G35xS compared to the older G35x.

Mark,
Sounds like a beautiful ride. What color combo did you decide on?
Being Canadian born I can vouch for the "smarts" of Canadians
.
But seriously I cannot imagine anyone wanting "LESS" functionality. When will we stop listening to focus groups????
Anyway, use your car well.

Lakeshore Slate with Stone Leather/Washi interior. I preferred the Graphite interior with wood, but they dont make the Lakeshore Slate/Graphite combination this year (yes, I know you can "build" it on the website, but unfortunately it's wrong...) and the Sport Package eliminates the wood choice. It's definitely "purty"!
Thanks for the good wishes!

how is the ride quality of the g35xsport with the 18 inchers compared to the standard g35x with 17 inch? is the ride any harsher, and if so, how much?

#71 of 72 Infiniti G35xS sedan, was wondering about changing the sports seats

I just bought a 2008 Infiniti G35xS sports sedan and I love the car except for the seats, they are not flat and the ends of the seat go up. They are supposed to give more support but they are too narrow, I was wondering what types of people would be able to work on making it flat (I think I read somewhere that all you had to do was remove the braces from the seat but i'm not sure).
If anyone knows the types of people I should call (I tried calling upholserers but they don't do this) or if anyone has owned a G35 sports sedan and knows how to fix the problem please let me know, thanks.

Someone posted on here before..something about cutting two metal brackets on the bottom. I've yet to muster the courage to rip mine out..but I find the seats incredibly thin for my US butt !
