This is a major disappointment. Even though I swear I read somewhere that the 2009 RL would offer more room in the rear.

Just the other day, I received an e-mail from Acura and one of the improvements touted was increased rear leg room. This despite the brochure I received earlier which listed all specs, including rear leg room that was exactly the same as the 2008. So, someplace there's a disconnect.

I read somewhere there is a totally new RL coming in 2010? Can anyone verify?

Yes the 2011 RL will debut in 2010. Thats when it will likely get a v8 and a RWD based platform. The v8 will likely have VCM and other fuel saving technologies.

Finally got a chance to check out the refreshed RL and I have say I like it a whole lot. When I drove up to the dealer there was a white one parked up front and I was immediately taken aback by the refreshed taillights and very nicely done pearl white exterior with the chrome trim by the footwell. My sales guy saw me pulled up and went in the back for a black one, I sat in the car for about 30 minutes playing around with the gizmos- I am totally sold, this upcoming TL better be a home run for me not to purchase the RL.

#86 of 138 2009 RLs - selling very well by go_mdx1

Although I personally don't care for the 2009 RL, others appear to be in love with this car as it is selling very well at my 2 area Acura dealers. Nearly all of the 10 original shipment vehicles have been sold.

Wonder what kind of price discount are being offerred on the 2009 RLs to make them so attractive.

One dealer offered $1000 off and another $500- that is definitly not attrative to me.

When the redesigned 2005 first came out most of us ordering in advance did not get any discounts. My dealer threw in mudguards, trunk liner, and winter floor mats. that was it. The RL has been a dream car. It's worth the full list. A Grand discount pays for replacing the Michelins at 50,000 miles...

Seems they are moving fast here too. Did a test drive and there is certainly more room on the back seat. I normally touch the ceiling with my head, and in the 2009 is acceptable, not in the 2008. I do this in a lot of other cars, so the 2009 is OK.
It now looks great, front and rear end.

Are you talking just about headroom or leg room as well? I read that the way they improved leg room was to make the front seat thinner, by making cutouts in the back to increase knee room.
