I have opted to put the car seat in the middle of the back seat. If you put it on any of the seats behind the driver or passenger seat you will have to move those seats to an uncomfortable position. I hear the '08s seats were changed to improver rear leg room, not sure if this will help with the space for the car seat as well. Getting in and out is not a problem though

I agree it could be tight in an is250 when rear-facing. I have a 2008 with a front-facing toddler seat. It fits, but I put it behind the passenger seat and my child has a tendency of kicking the passenger seat even when it is fairly far forward (not uncomfortable for a non-tall person). No way it would fit comfortably behind the driver's seat and I'm 5'9".
Might be a good idea to put in the middle-rear as ajmtbm suggested. If it's important, I also recommend bringing the seat and trying it out. This is one of the reasons why I almost bought an Acura TL.
