People couldn't believe at the time that the window sticker was actually (yes, this is at the BOTTOM of the sticker), $2,625.00.

Was that good or bad?

That was GOOD! The car had Rally Wheels, whitewalls, the extra exterior moldings which made it look like a much-more expensive Nova, but the six, stick, no power steering or brakes kept the window sticker down.

$2625... by andre1969

sounds like it would've been dirt cheap for that time period! My grandparents bought a well-equipped 1975 Dodge Dart Swinger hardtop, and I think it stickered for close to $5,000! That's about what my Mom's '75 LeMans coupe stickered for as well, which I never could figure out. A midsize coupe with a 350 V-8 for roughly the same price as a slant six compact?

I think my dearly departed '69 Dart GT hardtop stickered for about $3600, but it had air conditioning, which boosted the price quite a bit. And I'm sure the GT trim package was a couple hundred more than just a regular hardtop.

I vaguely recall that the sticker on the Citation (V6 auto) was around $6,000 in April 1979 dollars. I do know that a 1992 SE-R was just under $12,000 new.

Prices... by andre1969

just looked in my old car book, and it looks like the base MSRP for a '75 Dart Swinger hardtop was $3518. A base LeMans 2-door was $3590. So I guess that explains why my Mom's LeMans and grandparents' Dart were so close in price.

My book also lists the cheapest '74 Nova at $2811 for the 6-cyl coupe. It's amazing how bad inflation was back then. In '73, the same Nova was only $2377!

I'm still surprised that my '69 Dart GT managed to MSRP for around $3600. The base price was $2672. But I guess just between a/c and the automatic transmission, that was probably good for about $600-650. It also had a vinyl roof, 3-speed electric wipers, a tinted windshield, AM radio, the 225 slant six (versus standard 170), and power steering, all of which were optional. Heck, I think even 14" rims might have been optional!
