Okay to begin with I am approved through Capitol One for the purchase of a new or used vehicle but only from a "franchise dealership." Well before I knew this i found a beautiful CLK320 on Craigslist from a personal dealer nearby. My bank wont finance this type of transaction. After meeting with him and expalining my situation, he said we do the transaction through a dealership in another state. Im in Texas and the dealership in in Missouri. He said he would transfere the title to them then I could by it directly purchase it through the dealership. Is this safe? How can I protect myself? How do taxes work?
