What is this discussion about? Jaguar XF, Sedan

First Drive: 2009 Jaguar XF - The XF's chief designer Ian Callum first applied for a job in Jaguar design at age 12 as a kid in Dumfries, Scotland, and has longed for an opportunity to remake the brand ever since. And it looks as if he's successfully done so here, combining inspiration from the big book of historic Jaguar design cues (especially the 1959 Jaguar Mk. II) with current enthusiasm for a sedan adapted to a coupe roof line. (more)

Even in the stark light of the Arizona desert, the skin of the 2009 Jaguar XF shimmers with a life that seems almost liquid. Next to it, any other sport sedan looks as cold and abstract as a lump of coal.

More Wood? by alfasmith

More wood than any Jaguar ever built? I don't think so. Take a look at a 420G with rear "picnic tables" & front pull out writing table, not to mention the trim around the doors. Not even close.

Too bad that Jaguar copied Subaru Legacy front for a otherwise good-looking sedan which is breath of fresh air among fugly 5-series and bland E-class.

.....and received a brochure for the new XF. I don't mind the exterior of the car. It looks like a 4 door "coupe" and reflects the new Jaguar styling theme.

What's turning me off is that the new owner of Jag. is soon to be in a third world country.

For those somewhat concerned about Tata Motors buying Jaguar, I would suggest that you visit the website of the parent company: www.tata.com. This is a huge conglomerate of 98 companies. The website is just like any western company website that you would visit. This is no "third world" company. Look at the other businesses they are involved in and read about their CEO. I believe that they can and will do a stellar job of running Jaguar. This was concerning to me before I ordered my XF, but after looking into the company, I think it will be a win-win for Jaguar.

Well you would be pretty ignorant then wouldn't you?

Do you know anything about Tata besides the fact that it is an Indian based company?

If the only information you had about a pair of companies was their profit and loss statement which would you prefer?

Company A: That lost 12.6 billion dollars in 2006 and is projected to lose money in 2007 and 2008.

Company B: Had three billion dollars in profit for 2005-2006 and four billion for 2006-2007.

Which company sounds better?

I have to agree, they could of done a better job on the front headlights (compliments of subaru) other than that, im absolutely in love with this car,it has to be the sexiest car ive seen in a long time. Im going out the second that it comes down to a decent deal and the hype is down and financing it. I usually lease, but this car actually makes me want to be a proud owner. I love the heartbeat thing and the clean crisp interior, and im definetly gonna opt for the sweet supercharged engine. I just hope the service of the car will be as good as my benz ppl. Nothing is worse than having a good car but shi**y service. Hopefully whoever purchases them will follow through on what will be an a amazing car.
