2009 Nissan GT-R vs. 2008 Porsche 911 Turbo - Balance and body control of the GT-R are extraordinary through faster, bumpy bends that will have the 911 unsettled enough to make the driver lose confidence. I had a number of heart-in-mouth moments in the Turbo trying to keep up with the GT-R, even with the Porsche's suspension set to its harder Sport setting. (more)

Porsche's claim about the GT-R is what can't be substantiated. Except by Porsche..... who is all that really matters. Seriously, get a grip on your inner fanboy. It's a Nissan and it grabbed headlines because Nissan cooked up a meal that you're eating buffet style. Get a grip. Nice post. |

Its no wonder Porsche is embarrased enough to make up stories. The Turbo doesn't stand a snowball's chance against the GT-R anywhere in the world its been tested by a third party, and certainly not the Carrera S. Keep dreaming. LOL!

I suppose you didn't read it so I'll put it here for you. He said: Conclusion: Stock for Stock, the 997TT HAS NO CHANCE WHATSOEVER versus a stock GT-R. A bit redundant, but I guess he really wanted to get the point across.

You already know I don't think the GT-R is much of a dragster. All my posts have been, by default, road-courses. Everywhere it has been tested by third parties. Including the Nurburgring. As I shall now demonstrate. What is 'apparent' is that Porsche has a chronic lying problem. I'm just going to re-post this from another thread. Its great stuff. -Porsche claims the Turbo will do 7'38" on the Ring. -SportAuto could not verify their claim. The best SA could do was 7'54" in the 997Turbo...On R compound tires.-Yet Porsche is saying that Nissan's 7'29" time is not repeatable... Meanwhile... -Sport Auto, MERELY GETTING A FEEL FOR THE GT-R, did a 7'50", on OEM street (NOT R COMP) tires. In the wet. That's 4 seconds faster than they got with a 997 Turbo on R Comp tires...and again, they weren't out to set the fastest time possible with the GT-R. And they were in the wet. Does Porsche really want to try to make the argument that the GT-R is slower on the Ring vs the 911 Turbo? Do they really want to talk about the tires? Do they really want to bump all the news stories everywhere to bring this into focus? Give them rope everyone, give them rope. Children close your eyes. Everyone stand back. They will hang themselves. This was bound to happen. Porsche is obviously flustered, big time. Porsche's story contains several discrepancies. You keep misinterpretting Horst's comments. He is saying that if he could do 7:50 in the wet, be believes the Nissan 7:38 time was more representative of what the car is capable of. Cars go faster in the dry. Please don't try to rebut that claim again.

Road course, oval, gravel, dirt, Nascar, motorcylces, a frozen lake, 1/4-mile strip, tube-launched from a submarine, dropped from an airplane, etc. etc. you name it. Anyone want to set this up? It'd be one helluva day |
