2009 Nissan GT-R vs. 2008 Porsche 911 Turbo
- Balance and body control of the GT-R are extraordinary through faster, bumpy bends that will have the 911 unsettled enough to make the driver lose confidence. I had a number of heart-in-mouth moments in the Turbo trying to keep up with the GT-R, even with the Porsche's suspension set to its harder Sport setting. (more)

Nurburgring lap time for GT-R: 7:29

Note: It does not specify V-spec. What it appears they are saying is that in dry conditions, the stock GT-R on stock tires is 9 seconds faster than on wet pavement. Surprised? You shouldn't be. This truly is the start of the next generation of GT cars.

One can only guess how fast the V-spec will be. 7.10s? 7.00s?

This is the most thoughtful and insightful writing I have ever seen on any of these forums. I agree with you 100% and I will not try to add more since nothing really needs to be added.

$70k gets you so much more and personally I would rather buy the object than the name.

this puts the nail in the coffin. for anyone that still wants to claim the z06 and 911 TT still has a chance of achieving times like the GT-R on the track. or can even rival it for that matter

This just opens up so many possibilities.

I can't even imagine how fast the V-spec is. I wonder if they deleted the A/C and radio or if all the weight loss is due to carbon-fiber panels. Either way, 150kg is a lot.

And while the slowest GT-R is faster than the fastest Porsche... You ain't seen nothing yet! The 'sporty' ones are on their way. Guaranteed.

ex"zack"tly. no i dont thiink they are taking the A/C and radio out of the Spec V. maybe the EVO. but with the car weighing nearly 4000lbs. im sure there are plenty areas to cut fat.

maybe Nissan created the GT-R with the intention of it being heavy. they way they can continue to up the ante when someone tries to take their crown. by simply trimming fat. and at 3900lbs there is alot of weight to take

i cant imagine you can trim that much weight from the 911 TT. for the z06, i think adding weight would be beneficial for aiding the vette in gaining traction
