The Escape does seem to be a better value. Especially if you are comparing the XLT to the Mariner Base. For thsi reason we only stock premiers at my dealership as we have both franchises. For instance a power seat is a $300 upgrade on the Mariner but its standard on the XLT. Mark.

| Mariner, Escape and Tribute hybrids are very similar. Differences are the interiors. Escape is the cheapest looking, Mariner is better than Escape. I bought the limited production 2008 Tribute hybrid in California because it has the best interior, in the opinion of my family. My (the most expensive) model has leather seats, navigation and roof vent. The only major problem I have had is the A/C which is being repaired under warranty at this time. I live in SW Florida so A/C is used most of the time. Dealership service people at Mazda are not certified in SW Florida to service the hybrid Tribute so they send it to the Ford dealership for some repairs. | |
