I have over 20k miles on the xB now and the problem with the 5th gear vibration has pretty much gone away. I noticed that if I nudged the shifter a bit in the 5th position and it "settled" better into the position, the vibration lessend or just went away. This may be just an issue of the transmission breaking in and it probably will go away with time.
