2008 GT3 vs. Z06 vs. GT-R... by pmc4

Car and Driver has this to say about the Porsche GT3:
"Once the barely street-legal tires warmed up, the GT3 was terrific through the twistier sections, as you can see by the way it posted better times than the Z06 in Sectors Three, Four, and Five, but it tended to suffer from severe lift-throttle oversteer in the middle of turns. The great thing about the GT3, though, is that it feels as special and involving at 70 percent of its capabilities as it does on the ragged edge."

They had this to say about the Vette:
"But this time around, the revised rear shocks made the Z06 a lot easier to drive at the limit: It still oversteers under power or while lifting off the gas suddenly, but the slides are far more progressive and controllable than before."

Thus it's clear that neither car is well-balanced as of Porsce Boxster/Honda S2000 fame since both are tricky at the limit, and both are purely track cars, but I wonder where the Nissan GT-R will fall into this.
Will it be tricky, or well-balanced? A Z06 competitor, or a GT3 competitor? Like the Vette, the Nissan's engine if mid-front mounted, and like the Porsche, a small-displacement six will be used.
Both the Vette and Porsche weigh at or near 3,000 pounds; the GT-R will weigh 3,800 pounds.

I predict tough times ahead for the GT-R, due to it's hefty curb weight, and handling compromises because of the front/mid engine placement. Anyone else here have a technical perspective?

The Porsche wins in steering feel because of engine placement, but loses in all other categories to the Vette.
