I just got my 2009 Accord LX Sedan and need a car cover. Is one just as good as another? Any suggestions would be great, thank you!

need a car cover.

Actually, there is a big difference. I've never used one but I remember reading about how the cheaper versions can easily scratch your paint. I'd try to get some personal recommendations if possible. Of course, it depends on how much you care about the finish on your car.

For my 03 sedan, I bought the cover made for the car by Honda (from HandAaccessories.com). It is a good cover, but it is not weatherproof. The covers they sell at Pepboys fit ok, but are more likely to scratch the paint. So I used the Honda cover, and the semi waterproof cover from Pepboys over the Accord cover. For a cover that will keep the car dry in a downpour you will pay big bucks.

PS: Many covers say they are weather resistant, which is not even close to weatherproof. Check the fine print on that.

Mine is a 2008 Ex-L-V6.
I am planning to put on a set of winter tires this winter and like to mount them on alloys. I understand the wheels are 17 x 7.5". Can someone please advice on the bolt pattern & offset?

Many Thanks!

2009 Honda Accord EX-L Remote Started by malvarez934

I just got a 2009 Accord EX-L and added through the dealer the remote started option, the dealer use the Audiovox APS57A (Prestige) three bottom model, work fine but once the car has been started it won't open the trunk, I do understand that once you use the remote started it override the original Honda keyless entry but the trunk can't be open with either keyless pad. I either turn off the car use the remote started and the I can open the trunk using either keyless pad or if I want to keep the car on I have to open the car and use the internal leveler to open the trunk.

I found out after the car was delivered one day at the mall where I had the car started remotely and when I got to it and wanted to open the trunk to load the packages it would not open with either remote, so I has to open the door and open the trunk manually.

When the car is off either control will open the trunk or the doors.

I went back to the dealer I they call the installer and he indicated that they are having problems with the 2009 Accord and they were going to contact Honda !!!!

Does anyone else have the same problem or do you have any idea of what is the problem??

I would have stuck with the Genuine Honda Remote start. I am not sure why the dealer decided to install an aftermarket brand system on the car. That was a bad move on their part. It is a very nice feature to have, and I use it all the time, but not being able to access the trunk would put a damper on that.

I am not sure why the need to call Honda, only for wiring advice, but when using a different brand other than a Honda product, not sure they can offer much.

I am sorry this is happening. I would either ask for it to be fixed or have them use the actual product that was intended for this car. It is not different than going to best buy and having them put a system on. This could void warranties, hopefully the dealer sees the risk they took.

Well I agree with you 100% and her is an interesting point why would I Honda Dealer who is under contract with Honda push someone else product instead of the manufacture original equipment???, probably because they can make a larger profit from sales of a third party device ????, I be honest I always like to go with the OEM equipment but I tell you the business manager bad talks the Honda remote stated in every single possible way you can think off, as if it is too expensive, it only comes with one remote keypad, etc. etc.
At this time I am waiting for the dealer to get back with the replay from Honda engineering and they with either get it working the proper way, replace it or take it out and I will go to another Honda dealer that uses a product that works.
I hope that maybe the manufacture takes a look a this board and maybe get some ideas of what goes on out here.

Well, if they take much longer, you tell them to take the whole thing out. You can simply state that it is interfering with the functions of the car. I would assume the dealer would want to be in good standing with you. But, you did not ask for this problem when buying a new problem. I would file a report through honda, informing them of the situation. That way if there are further issues, they have a file to start from.

Tell them you want the Honda remote start to be installed. Since, the product installed is could void warranties. Insist on that.

Does anyone have the dealer installed Honda Bluetooth? We are looking to buy an Accord, want the bluetooth, but not the Nav.

If you have it, how does it work? Is it integrated with the factory stereo?

Much thanks.
