I had/have a problem with my 08 Limited with the fuel filler access door. When I went to refuel the other night the door release button in the drivers door would not open the cover. Only by me pushing in on the fuel door while my wife push the button did the cover spring open. It required me to hold spring tension off the release pin enough to allow the solenoid to retract the latch pin. I checked the door several times following the above and it seems to be working OK. We are in Florida so no freeze problems. I removed the access cover inside the car near lift gate but was unable to see inside the fender well hole to locate the emergency pull tab for the fuel door . (happened at night). I advise all drivers with this type fuel door to locate the emergency pull cable at home during daylight. The pull is a small plastic “T” handle that is attached via Velcro inside the right side fender well. This way you can find it in the dark.
