In your pictures I note there appears to be a large floor "mat" covering the full rear. Was this standard with the Platinum or was it an accessory ? I purchased a couple of mats from Home Depot to protect the rear but would prefer something that would fit better. I don't see anything in Toyota accessories for this item.
BTW, I agree that black is very sharp if it is kept clean and polished. I had three black SUV's prior to purchasing a Silver Sky Sequoia in 2001. It generally looked very clean on the outside even when not washed. However when I bought the 2008 Sequoia Limited I went for the Slate Metallic as I wanted a change after 7 years of Silver.
However, It is disappointing that dust etc. shows far more on the Slate than the Silver Sky. I think I was spoiled with the Silver Sky color as far as efforts to keep it looking sharp and I guess I will be spending more on car washes with the Slate Metallic color.

All Lexi are based on Toyota platforms. The LS is just a BIG Camry, LX is a Landcruiser/Sequoia. Go to the LexusUSA website and compare the Platinum Sequoia with the LX570. The Lexus even has the power folding third row seat. In the comparison section the blocks that are labeled "Not Available" are incorrect. Some of the features are avaiable some are not.

LX 570 is based upon the Land Cruiser. LX and Sequoia do share the same drivetrain though.
#1740 of 1954 Driver Side Floor Mats Holes?
May 20, 2008 (5:14 am)
I just received my carpet floor mats for my 2008 Sequoia. In the floor mats there are 2 holes on the drivers seat side of the mat. On the floor/carpets there are also 2 holes. The correct placement of the mats leaves these holes separate by about an inch or so.
What is the purpose of the holes? Is there a clip or something that allows the floor holes to be attached to the floormat holes to keep the mat from sliding? If so, how or from where can I order those? Part number?

Looking for an item that can keep the dogs in the space behind the 2nd row (with the the 3rd row down). Anyone know of a good product that fits well in the 2008 Sequoia?

Normally there are clips on the floor that should rotate to fit the floor mat to hold them secure.

The LS is not based on the Camry. The Camry is a front-wheel drive platform. The LS460/LS600H are based on a different, rear-drive platform. The Lexus ES is front-wheel drive and is, indeed, based on the Camry.

"LX is a Landcruiser/Sequoia."
Mack, I know you're an expert on Toyota's however other than the engine and drivetrain there is very little in common between the Sequoia and LC/LX platform. They have entirely different exterior dimensions, wheelbases, capacities and interior dimensions. One of the biggest differences is that the LC/LX still uses a solid rear axle while the new Sequoia has been upgraded to an independent rear suspension. The Sequoia is made in the US while the LC/LX models are all made in Japan, which to a large extent explains why the LC is so much more expensive than a Sequoia.
One of the other big differences is cost. With the $ to Yen exchange rate the cost to build an LC/LX is far greater than a Sequoia which shows up on the MSRP.

I ordered the "Accessories Package" with my Sequoia. This package from the dealer includes mats for all 3 rows plus the tri-fold cargo mat that works great with the 3rd folded down or up. The package also includes a first aid kit which fits very nicely in the bottom of the 2nd row console. It also included a cargo net for the rear and door sill protectors for all 4 doorways. Seemed a reasonable deal for a couple hundred bucks.
