What is this discussion about? Toyota Sequoia, SUV

First Drive: 2008 Toyota Sequoia 4WD - Arguably the most useful, most refined and easiest-to-drive full-size SUV ever built, the 2008 Toyota Sequoia will keep a large family from being forced to adapt to a fleet of Priuses. (more)

Full Test: 2008 Toyota Sequoia Limited 4x4 - You would expect a sport-utility that measures 17 feet long, stands 6 feet tall, carries eight passengers and is hooked up to a 5.7-liter V8, four-wheel drive and 20-inch wheels to be called Sequoia. Talk about full-size! Talk about lumbering! (more)

I am a 2 time Durango owner. I DIG this ride's look! It is a bit Durango-esque in the profile, which I don't mind. The only drawbacks for me are the bucket-only seats in the 2nd row on the Platinum model--I definitely need the 8 seats--and I also wish the room behind the 3rd row was increased from previous years. It looks like it may have even decreased a bit. Way to go Toyota! Worth the wait!

i love it! a serious carbon footprint on the face of "eco-conscious" america. gas will be $4+ per gallon, and people will still buy these behemoths. but hey, it's a toyota, so it must be a good thing

I currently own a 2005 MDX and will be upgrading to the new Sequoia. I don't care about the gas mileage as long as the tank is large enough to provide a decent range. Is the tank the same size as the Tundra's tank?

Any negative posts about the size of this vehicle, the gas mileage, impact on the ozone layer, etc... should be deleted.

In our family of five (three active boys, coach & sportsman dad and gardner mom) and two dogs (akitas), we NEED a large SUV! Unfortunately we dont have the economic luxury of buying an extra vehicle for the days when one of us just needs to go to work or just run to the 7-11. So yes, on those days it may appear that I could have purchased a civic, but if you catch us on most days our Sienna and soon Sequoia are doing what they were ment to --- carrying big dogs and their food; bags of soccer balls, cones, my kids and the occasional extra kid that needs a ride to practice ; large bags of soil, mulch and fertilizer; three boys who,,, sometimes change into cubscout unifoms in the back seat and on and on and on and on and on...... Try this with a Passant as we did for years and you will kiss the hot tail pipe of a large SUV......

No problem! We'll all just buy a few carbon credits and everyone will be happy!

Seriously, if you want to discuss such matters head over to Are automobiles a major cause of global warming? or How Will Global Warming Concerns Change The Vehicles We Drive?. We're discussing the review article here and not Politics.
