It is the black plastic part (on the outside of the window) down by the wipers that sits against the window. Many have just removed and strategically placed a few pieces of felt etc. I would point it out to the dealer and have them do it.

Let me know how that test goes. The reason I posted the question was becuase when I first purchased the vehicle it seemed to be a bit more responsive on that first tank from the dealer. The next fill I noticed a slight reduction in acceleration when I used 87. Maybe my imagination who knows. I also don't know what kind of gas they used at the dealer.

I am still on the second tank of gas and was thinking of trying 91 on my next fill up. I've owned the car now for just a few weeks.

thanks for your responce,

My wife and I just bought a beautiful new 2009 two days ago from a Nissan dealer near Tacoma, WA. It's an LE model, equipped with everything except nav. We paid $33k, and couldn't be happier with the car.

I just got back from my Utah trip and tried the 87 octane and 91 octane. I got one more mile to the gallon with the 91 octane thats all, but I have to admit by the time I tried the 91 octane i was in the middle of Nevada and driving at 80 miles an hour and not 65 miles per hour. Maybe if I would of drove both octanes at 65 maybe the 91 octane would have gotten 3 or 4 miles to the gallon. I'll be honest with you though I didn't notice any better pickup or performance with the 91 octane so I think I will just stay with the 87 octane.

I am having that problem too. My 2009 Nissan Murano SL AWD (16k miles), is currently at a Nissan dealership because I have been stranded 3 times. The Murano would not start, just went dead without warning. The first time it died, I replaced the battery. The second and third time it died- twice in one day 150 miles away from home while we were camping. All three times have been on hiking trips in Northern Arizona. The dealership said they can't find anything wrong so I have contacted Nissan and they are having a district tech look into the problem. They told me they haven't heard of this problem before...

Sorry to hear about the problem you are having but I would be interested in hearing back from you after the factory rep finisheses with the dianoess of your Murano. I have the 2009 Murano SL AWD with (20k miles) and knock on wood I haven't had any problems yet. Maybe it is something to do with the onboard computor that dosen't show a malfunction when tested.

Good luck with that - I am actually fighting with Nissan with the Lemon Law! I do have to say, document every thing and start calling now. Don't let it become a Major Issue with it because it is getting worse and worse! It is leaving me stranded almost every week instead of once in a blue moon.
If you have to fight it with Nissan good luck with that because their customer service SUCKS!!! I have corporate e-mail address if you need them because the tech and nissan tech specialist do not know what is causing the problem.

HI - sure I will take the corporate email address, I want to get everyone involved. This is my first Nissan experience. I don't have a good feeling about this because they won't even provide a rental car until they can diagnose the problem... How long have you had this issue? Seems to me Nissan wouldn't want to be liable if the car stalled somewhere and became a safety liability..

the Murano S has the Start/Stop button to turn engine on/off... have you noticed that if you pull out the key fob and DO NOT PUSH START/STOP BUTTON the engine will stay on? And if you park in the garage and do not hear that the quiet engine is still on, you will kill your entire family with Carbon Monoxide!!!! And our Nissan mechanic confirms that the design is correct... i have written to Nissan... NO ANSWER!!!
