Replying to: eights38 (Jan 07, 2009 11:17 am) An extra charge may be imposed at the end of the lease where the lessee's liability, if any, is based on the difference between the residual value of the leased property and the realized value at the end of the lease term. So besides having outrageous leasing rates, they are trying to sneak in an open ended lease to boot where the lessee is responsible for any shortfall in the residual? Is this just from one dealer, or is this a new national Audi program?

Replying to: Car_man (Jan 14, 2009 3:34 am) Regarding the money factors.......I was quoted a money factor for a 39 month lease that is the equililent of an APR of a little over 8.1% (top tier credit) while they are offering 3.9% APR on purchases of the A5. I can get 4.75% for 60 months from my credit union. Strange that the difference is so big. High money factor, mediocre residual (51%), and an open ended lease (at least at this dealer).....not very attractive lease terms when compared to the competition. |

I got quoted for $700 a month with 2K down 48 mos lease on a fully-loaded A5 at Commonwealth Audi in Santa Ana, CA - this is the best deal I can find. I didn't take the deal because $700 is still too steep for a car payment. But for any of you out there wanting this deal, just make sure you drive a hard bargain and show up like 30 mins before they close at any dealership. They didn't tell me what is the residual value but I was only interested in the monthly payment and were adamant about 36 mos 15K only  .

Hi there, I recently stopped by at a local SoCal Audi dealer and TD the A5. I did not get into many specifics (e.g. residual, money factors, etc.) but was quoted a bulk estimate of $1,200/month for a 24 month lease with zero down on a $50-52K Audi A5. The dealer was willing to get in touch with me later on as my 5 Series lease only expires in August. The A5 is a very nice car, but not as fast as I expected it.
