No, you're right.
Now, about that fusion-powered hyperdrive I'd like on the 2010 Sonata...

Fusion is scary, you don't wanna start buying fords!. Let's just stick to a diesel powered sonata with 120/150 mpg

Heck, I would even take half of those mileage figures and be extremely happy. I don't think there is a car on the road that gets 60 mpg on the highway let alone city. But that would be real nice.
Currently I'm very happy with the 29 to 30 mpg I'm getting with my 09 V6 Limited. I think the fact I've had to use my A/C since purchasing the car probably hasn't allowed me to break the 30 mpg ceiling. Plus the engine is still very new. I just hit 1,100 miles on the way to work this morning.

I'm finally on my third tank personally. Heading toward that 1k mark...hopefully by the end of this tank I'll be officially outta break-in, although I'll probably baby the car until first oil change anyways. I gotta say so far, everything's been working perfectly with no unexpected issues. Well except I had an unreliable usb stick, but that's not hyundai's fault. I think the shifting has gotten smoother over time as well, I can still tell easily on the major shift between 2-3 it seems, but everything else isn't really noticed unless I pay attention. There was this really annoying new black Lexus GS450 that was stealing her turn early, i had fun fighting her off this morning. :p Stinky toyotas with oversized engines!

Wow, I actually hit 1k miles on my V6 Limited this morning on the way to work.
So far, so good in the two weeks I've had it. The only thing I notice is that the driver's seat is a little loose. There's no way I'm bringing it back to the dealer to look at it, though. I've owned enough cars to know better than to take something minor in for repair. It usually comes back with a few more issues, plus the original one.
I'm averaging a little better than 25 mpg in mixed driving. I'm saving a ton on gas. If it only had integrated Bluetooth, it would be perfect!

Yep, I'm loving this car. I'm so happy with it. I also really like the fact you can use the navigation system while the car is in motion. Not that I advocate the driver doing that, but least it's an option for the passenger. I hate these car companies who completely disable navigation functions as soon as the car is in motion. So annoying to have to pull over to enter an address. It's a little too "big brother" for me. Plus the voice recognition is really good too. I love being able to tell it what track I want to go to rather than having to cycle through the tracks to get to the desired track. Just one of the many conveniences of voice recognition. It's very accurate too; the few times I've had to use it, it's taken me right to my address perfectly.
What a car this 09 model is. I just don't know why anyone would purchase an Accord, Camry, Malibu, Fusion etc. with such a good value as the Sonata, especially the 09. Every time I get in my car I feel like I'm in a much more expensive car than $27,000. I hope the car lasts me for many trouble free years.

I think we just got our cars a little too early. Bluetooth integration will be there in 2010 or 2011 with this whole microsoft thing. Ah well, none for us until a new car....which isn't gonna happen for many years on my part hopefully.
I'm around 25mpg as well with a lot more city than highway. Hoping to get up to 26 or 27 this tank, but we'll see what happens. Only thing is I'm in the I4 rather than V6 like you guys.

if you go to automobilemag.com, they have a video review of the 09 sonata. they prefer the handling of the se over the limited, but limited has features that make it perhaps a challenging decision. i just picked up a limited v6 w/navi today - 2 year lease special. like it so far but need more time behind the wheel...
