Replying to: sqpal (Nov 07, 2007 12:08 pm) "Since my dog will be riding in the rear cargo area where the hybrid batteries are located, are there any potential harmful effects? I go on a lot of road trips and my dog would spend a lot of time laying on top of the batteries."   The batteries are sealed and vented to the outside of the vehicle. I have not heard of any issues with this.   If it can affect your canine in the cargo area, it can affect the other passengers as well.
