I am the proud owner of a 1999 Mountaineer with the 5.0 V-8. I have never had any problems, and I love this SUV. I have added a flowmaster exhaust system, but am looking for more horsepower. I will be researching high performance air filter systems, programming chips, headers, forced air hood scoops, etc. I will let this forum know what I find on this journey, as well as any maintenance info I can find. I will also add ground effects, front end bra, paint, etc. I have not seen any really customized Mountaineers, so someone has to do it, right? More to follow..... Replying to: tommyboy32 (Nov 05, 2007 9:14 pm) Welcome onboard. Good to see someone breathing some life into the Mountaineer forum. I have the 02 V8 Mountaineer premier . Some tips might be useful on acceleration from 0 I have also done the tune-up.... still not much improvement. Apart from that, I like my mountaineer. No probs. The only mods so far is double chrome flowmaster exhaust Hid fogs I came from Nissanclub forum. More action. nb - i would advise you to keep away from Oiled Air Filter
