Comparison Test: 2007-2008 Sport Sedans - This is exactly why we gathered this group of sport sedans. That is, to find out if the 2008 Cadillac CTS, 2007 Infiniti G35 Sport, 2008 Lexus IS 350 or 2008 Mercedes-Benz C350 Sport can topple the Bavarian champ — the 2007 BMW 335i. In the spirit of the segment, each car in the test is outfitted with sport package hardware — usually a stiffer suspension and bigger wheels and tires — and an automatic transmission. (more)

I think the A4 was not included because a brand-new model is due out early next year. Also, I don't know what stats you are reading because I see more A4s where I live, Bay Area, California, than any of the other vehicles in this test.
As for why people consistently choose BMW and Mercedes-Benz over Audi: in my opinion reliability. I have owned two Audi's, an A6 and an A8, and would never even consider buying an Audi again. I owned both cars for two years and honest to God they spend a grand total of about 4 months of that time in the shop each. To put it into perspective, I have never once taken a single one of my 10 MBs (not owned all at one time of course) into the shop for anything but scheduled maintenance. Audi's are beautiful cars but they are not engineered with the same kind of beauty as their competitors (and I say that literally for I am a mechanical engineer).

As overweight as the GTR might be, there is no porsche(stock)around past or present that can out run it, and that include the 911GT2 and the CARRERA GT.

Don't be absurd. A GT3 out runs the GT-R at Nurburgring. Compared to the GT2, the substantially less powerful GTR wouldn't have the remotest chance, even if Nissan figured out a way to extract that male Cape Buffalo from the passenger seat and got the weight down to the general vicinity of the Porsche.

For the roads I drive, give me a lightweight 240Z over the GT-R any day.

The rich and powerful choose luxury cars so I need to follow their lead and impress my neighbors.

Where is the conversation going?

Well guess what, i have facts to back me up

The Fastest Lap
The record lap would be set by Nissan's top shoe, Suzuki-san, who ultimately turned in a lap in 7 minutes, 38 seconds on a partially wet circuit. Those ominous clouds looming in the sky earlier in the day left their mark on two areas of the track, Kesselchen and Wehrsiefen, and required Suzuki-san to rein his speed in a bit.

Beating a 911 Turbo around the Nordschleife is an accomplishment at any price, but pipping it by 2 seconds, on a partly damp circuit, at an estimated price point of $80,000 is something else entirely.
