Comparison Test: 2007-2008 Sport Sedans - This is exactly why we gathered this group of sport sedans. That is, to find out if the 2008 Cadillac CTS, 2007 Infiniti G35 Sport, 2008 Lexus IS 350 or 2008 Mercedes-Benz C350 Sport can topple the Bavarian champ — the 2007 BMW 335i. In the spirit of the segment, each car in the test is outfitted with sport package hardware — usually a stiffer suspension and bigger wheels and tires — and an automatic transmission. (more)

You are right. Is there anything wrong with this new version of the G or the CTS? I assume they can't be perfect.

I don't own either so I really can't be of much help here. Didn't own their previous incarnations either. If I did, I would be more than willing to share. I've yet to own a perfect car although I keep hoping.............

Okay. I hated the way I had to turn off the climate control. That was the extent of the criticism. The car fit me like a glove. One quality issue relating to the radio, AM reception stunk. I wish the back seat was bigger, but then I bought a 3 series, not a 5 series.

On my 07 g35 6mt...

I hate that the air flow mode (recirculation vs. venting) ALWAYS goes back to Venting when you put climate control in auto-mode. I live in a city. The last thing I want is to suck the diesel fumes of the bus in front of me into the cabin of the car.

I also dislike the fact that I had to disable the laser detector on my ValentineOne because the ICC kept setting it off.

Let's see... I hate parking it outside? She's just too pretty to sit outside even at work!

I didn't like VDC at all until I had the ECU reprogrammed, now I love it!

I love the fact that I can sit comfortably in the back seat with the driver's seat in the position where I would use it! Lots of room!

Oh wait, we're supposed to be picking bad things...

I dislike that there is one and ONLY one way to get MP3s onto the onboard hard drive and that the ONLY such method is a huge pita / timesink. It would be wonderful if i could just copy from Compact Flash. I mean, having CF is kind of a gimmick without that feature...

The hard drive needs to be bigger.

The MP3 encoder should allow for reasonable / modern bit rates instead of capping at 132 bit.

I hate the fact that I was FORCED to get a sunroof as it is mandatory with the Premium package (which has such key features as bluetooth, heated seats, MP3 stereo ability).

That's all I can think of at the moment.

I had buyers remorse as soon as bought the car. I should've gone for the M3. I hated the way people came up to me and drolled all over it. I hated parking it outside. I hated the grin I had while driving it. I hated listening to the sweet sound of the engine.

I'll think of some more.

I use this gadget (not sure the technical name) that permits me to plug in a USB drive or ipod and then sends a wireless signal to the radio at some unused FM frequency. Power comes from the lighter. Works great in all cars - even those I don't own.

Similar to the nav system you take with you. In fact, I read somewhere that having a built-in nav system actually has a negative impact on the resale value. Seems that in three years (or more) when people buy these cars, they are not interested in spending extra money for the nav system. There's also the obsolescence factor. Compare nav systems that are four or five years old with those available now.

Have any idea if the seats on the 2008 have more upward adjustment than the 2006? When we test drove a 330 last year my petite wife (4'10") couldn't raise the seat high enough to see out the front window : (

I wish the back seat was bigger,

None of these back seats are comfortable for extended periods of time - except for the lucky person who sits behind my wife - plenty of legroom. One thing I remember is that rear seat access to the Lexus was challenging. The wheel well makes the door opening tight. Noticed the same thing with their GS also.

Seems like the most important thing about these electronic driving "helpers" is the ability to turn them off! Believe Lexus gets bashed because you can't always turn these things off. BMW's iDrive makes operating things easy - well maybe not.

Actually don't know about the seats. When I drove the 335 I was able to raise the seats enough to hit my head on the roof, and I'm not tall. I thought the seats were better than in previous models.

Yes...skip the Nav. Add AWD.
