Comparison Test: 2007-2008 Sport Sedans - This is exactly why we gathered this group of sport sedans. That is, to find out if the 2008 Cadillac CTS, 2007 Infiniti G35 Sport, 2008 Lexus IS 350 or 2008 Mercedes-Benz C350 Sport can topple the Bavarian champ — the 2007 BMW 335i. In the spirit of the segment, each car in the test is outfitted with sport package hardware — usually a stiffer suspension and bigger wheels and tires — and an automatic transmission. (more)

What a bunch of rubbish. I would like to thank you for the entertaining banter. BMW must be laughing all the way to the bank. YTD it outsells the G, 2 to 1. I wish I was a savvy to have a customer base like BMW. The nerve paying a premium for a taxicab. BMW customers must be as stupid as Inifinitis' customer however. Paying a premium for a RWD Maxima.

BMW could sell twice as many pieces of the identical bread as Infiniti just because is has the well-earned reputation that Infiniti is just now getting. A few years ago the company was almost bankrupt - the fact that Infiniti is this competitive so quickly is remarkable. BMW is much more well known to the buying public, has built-in brand loyalty, much higher prestige, been around much longer, and for conservative customers is a much safer choice than the Infiniti. Their market position is so much better than Infiniti's due to their longevity. BMW has such a large built-in advantage before releasing any car that their sales should be much larger. Besides following the heard has often proven to be incorrect over the long run. Let's not confuse popularity with being the best. Paying a premium for a RWD Maxima. I agree 100% that the fact that BMW makes taxis in Europe is irrelevant, but why keep making these types of comments about the Infiniti? The two incorrect comments are not related but two different topics. The Infiniti and Maximum are far different cars just like BMW and VW are far different.

Replying to: drtravel (Nov 16, 2007 1:31 pm) Because I'm tired about hearing about taxicabs, planes, trains and automobiles. We're talking about the US. Every manufacturers dream is to share parts among it's autos. BMW included. There is no pure DNA.

Replying to: kdshapiro (Nov 16, 2007 1:34 pm) Exactly - the Caddy, MB, Lexus in this comparo also share parts as does every luxury maker. I would just tell the poster enough with the taxicab analogy without specifically criticizing Infiniti over and over again. PS Might want to consider somehow identifying the comments you are responding to - bold, italic etc. Sometimes I get confused which is your intelligent comment and which is the not so intelligent post you are responding to. |
