Comparison Test: 2007-2008 Sport Sedans - This is exactly why we gathered this group of sport sedans. That is, to find out if the 2008 Cadillac CTS, 2007 Infiniti G35 Sport, 2008 Lexus IS 350 or 2008 Mercedes-Benz C350 Sport can topple the Bavarian champ — the 2007 BMW 335i. In the spirit of the segment, each car in the test is outfitted with sport package hardware — usually a stiffer suspension and bigger wheels and tires — and an automatic transmission. (more)

need to take a closer look at the IS, but based on my first look (which included sitting in the rear seats), my own personal feeling is that it was not too small. Guess it depends on what you are comparing it to and how much space you really need.

I think you should see the back rear seats again. Instantly I felt how small those rear seat leg rooms were.

Believe it or not i would say even a yaris or corolla has more leg room.

But I would like to add that the driving seat are very comfy no problems at all.

Everyone forgets the Lexus GS350....it's the sleeper in the Lexus line. Beautiful finish, 300+HP....not a camry with a lexus badge... MUCH nicer than either the ES or IS with some space in back. Lousy lease though which is why I'm not going that route....

I could agree with you GS is nice, But have you seen the visibility of the road in front of you

You must be right, because tight rear seats is a common complaint in IS reviews I have read. So I will double check it, after putting the driver's seat in a position I'd be comfortable driving in.

Good point. Guess I thought of it as being too much $ and bigger on luxury than sport.

My feeling on the IS... pretty sure it was Frodo's car in LOTR Definitely designed for the small-of-stature driver, but a nice looking little car. Might have made an interesting IS350 Coupe!

I wouldn't say that about habitat1. He is a purist, simple as that.

Sooner or later you have to compare sports sedans with automatics. The days of the manual are dwindling fast.

are the future.

Many of them are bad, or at least don't represent anything positive. The whole concept of Total Quality is emphasize only what the customer thinks is important. Which customer? Cheaper, faster, slicker -- maybe.

But better?

Not always.

With time, the technology will be perfected. I for one am embracing this change, I just love to floor it and enjoy the view.
