No I haven't, not yet at least. Do you have experience with one or do you own one? I don't know, I am just excited about the V6 SE. The Hybrid is cool, but the V6 will do 0-60 in 5.8 seconds (Car and Driver, Feb 07) and still returns about 30 mpg on the highway. If it's like our Sienna, it will do better than the rated mpg.

It's probably a childish thing, I just want the horsepower! I really love the 3.5L.

So does anyone know what Toyota is doing about the 6 speed tranny issues? It's breaking my heart I just can't get myself to buy a car if I know the tranny is likely to break, and it doesn't sound like this is isolated to a few early models, but an ongoing problem. I currently drive a 97 Maxima with over 200k on it and we still have our 2004 Odyssey EXL-RES (replaced with the Sienna, thinking it would be easy to sell ) with registration due this month, I am not willing to pay to register it and wait patiently for a buyer that will offer me close to book value. I am probably going to trade it in for a new car for myself before the end of the month. The one I WANT is the Camry SE V6. It's losing points because of the CR ratings. So I am also considering the Accord V6, Acura TL, Infiniti G35, Altima SE, Maxima SE.... They are all nice, I just can't get that excited about any of them because I've had my heart set on the Camry SE since the new model came out. Even with an extended warranty, that's just a bandaid on a wound that isn't healing.

Plan B is to buy something used so as to get rid of my Ody but avoid paying all of the depreciation on a car I don't want to keep very long, and drive it for a year or two, giving Toyota time to work out the bugs with the 6 speed, and then get the Camry?

Yes,I have the 2007 anniversary edition. I don't want to overpraise the car,but I will say, it is worth a test drive. If you decide to test it, push it a little. I think you have a surprise comming. Also be sure to take note of the no shift CVT transmission. The rest is up to you. Good hunting.
