this is my first hyundai 2005 LX 2wd with sunroof.love the suv. the only thing about the 2007 that make me kinda of mad is t get the 6 disc changer you have to get the package with the dvd and third set. as is on my 2005 and the 2006 it is standard. drove it and love the way it handles. if you will look in the front console you will fid a cover that at come out there is a hole for a cooler to be put in. the cooler will keep drinks cool. now you can,t get it in the us but you can in so other countrys along with headlight washers.

This seems to happen to alot of car manufacturers. The option packages seem to be a little weird. I thought it was weird that you have to get the ultimate package to get the power passenger seat. I figured that should be a standard feature on the limited. Oh well. A cooler and headlight washers seem a little gimmicky, but I guess a cooler would be nice for long trips.

Any idea on the cost of the valve adjustment maintenance....not looking for a specific number.I keep vehicles for several years and would like to put these figures into my budget.

When it comes to having to add seemingly irrelevant options to get what you actually want, Hyundai isn't nearly as bad as, say, Toyota. My wife was remarking to me yesterday about the "stripped down" Azera and how, even though it's not a Limited trim level, it still adds a ton of standard features that would be extra-cost options elsewhere. If you want a typical Japanese vehicle, you can start at an unrealistically low price for a basic stripped-down model (which are never shipped to the US except for fleet use) and by the time you add what you need (accelerator and brake pedals?...they're part of the luxury electronic touring leather package) you've just about doubled the price of the car. That's very, very frustrating and one reason why I don't buy Toyotas any more.

So yes, it's a bummer when your desired feature is buried in an optional package, but Hyundai is definitely not a leading player in that game. Let's just hope they won't imitate their Japanese rivals when it comes to that.

#867 of 2993 Availability of 3rd seat,etc. by musky1gfm

Straight scope from a Hyundai dealership general manager today.
The 07 doesn't offically go on sale---TV,media advertising etc.till Sept 03,2006.They aren't supposed to have one in their showroom till than.Of course the 07's are in the outside lots, and can be bought now.
The 3rd row seating will be in their inventory by 9/03/06.

I think the GM at that dealership is missing some important facts or misinterpreting the information provided to him.

1. It is available and for sale now (as you noted) and that's pretty official. Hyundai wants to sell cars - all the misinformation, SWAG's, hype, yata, yata,... don't matter. Only vehicle sales matter!

2. The web has been updated and you can build, price and request a quote - looks pretty official to me.

I don't understand his thinking.

I definitely agree with you there. Making alot of the popular features standard also certainly eliminates alot of overhead for the manufacturer.

Yup. That's right. There is far less prediction required for options when they're made standard. It also helps working relations with suppliers.

#871 of 2993 Canadian colour options by canadianbaylor

I would like to get a beige leather interior with a black exterior. A dealer here in Canada indicated that beige leather will not be available...anyone know the official canadian colour options?
