You should have included the Trailblazer SS in your comparison. Slightly "slower" than the SRT8, but way more functional and stylish!

For practical reasons, makes a person wonder what advantage they are they paying for in the Audi. Maybe it's the sportscar experience that wins out over riding in a fast SUV but the price difference isn't worth it for the negligible speed difference.

As an SRT8 owner, I can tell you that these vehicles are stupid-easy to launch, no brake torque needed. One SRT8 plus one rookie R8 driver equals the priceless scowl on the R8 owner's face as he gets owned by a bling-bling SUV that he's never heard of!

I love my new Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT-8. It is so much fun of the line... just all four tires clawing their way to the finish line. Oh, and I can throw all my mountain stuff in the back for the weekend too! First one to the top of the mountain wins!

I love Audi but I am really disappointed in the R8! I thought it was a monster of a motor, my friend has an RS4 and that is a very fast car. I think taking that exact motor and putting it into a chassis that looks like a cool lotus is a let down for me (I never liked lotus)! Another thing is that I think Edmunds is wrong about the SRT8 motor, it is a OHC not a pushrod motor. I have an SRT8 Jeep and I am pretty sure it is an OHC (must be a misprint). The cool thing I got out of it is that with about $3000 I can probably really disappoint the local, shaddy looking car salesman who loves to be seen in his R8!
