Did you guys have a 1st Gen M Coupe on hand for your test? I know the current M Coupe, M5 and M6 didn't make the cut but the article doesn't mention the 1st Gen M Coupe. I would love to know how that car stacks up (because I'm thinking about buying one).

| While I do agree about the selection of cars and the one you chose as the number one car why oh why didn't you incluse the E36 M Coupe with the S54 Motor? I think it would have been another great addition to this line of cars and one of the best M cars ever in my opinion. What do you think? | |

The description of the E92 M3 makes it sound as though the M division has taken on more of the character of Alpina--fast, refined tourers with mountains of power but no edge. I thought M stood for Motorsport.

| I don't really understand. I know that as the newer cars get more powerful and bigger, all the components need to get beefier. But why the loss of steering feel? Steering feel is SO important to the sporting experience, perhaps moreso than the speed and actual handling prowess. Can't the manufacturers simply harden up all the rubber bushings between the steering wheel and the front tires? This has bugged me deeply for years. I think a special feature story is in order! | |
