What is this discussion about? Toyota Tundra, Truck

Long-Term Test: 2007 Toyota Tundra SR5 Double Cab - Starting with a 2007 Tundra SR5 double cab, we had two requirements: four-wheel drive and a V8. The big 5.7-liter V8. It's the most powerful, most capable, and is the closest match to our long-term Chevy Silverado's 6.0-liter mill. What it lacks in displacement, it makes up for in power: 381 horsepower and 401 pound-feet at only 3,600 rpm. Compare that to our Silverado, which kicks out 367 hp and only 375 lb-ft at 4,300 rpm. You need to check the background of when and how the Exploder situation came about. The fault lay with the original design of the Exploder and then Ford imposing that Firestone list a too low pressure which weakened the tires causing the failures which then were exacerbated by the lack of Stability Control.

I bought a new 2004 chev.z71.all kinds of problems. The rear end had to be replaced at 1500 miles. I had to force them to do it. They switched my 2004 rear end with a new 2005.I asked the shop forman why they did that. He said they would have to order a rear end for the 2005.I dought they did that.I had trans. problems. Thay refussed to fix it.They gave me a bulletin stating the problem.Saying do not attempt to repair it. It also stated it was on going. It was in several year models including 2007. I don't thing they will fix the problem ever.

I thought we were talking about this years Tundra? It is after all completly redesigned and garnering some very intimidating awards, ratings and reviews. I don't recall any Tundra's catching fire due to camshaft failures this year. Unfortunetly this seems to be happening in every single F150 for the last 5+ years. You would think that eventually these trucks that are "Built Ford Tough" would eventually quit spontaneously combusting.

**Correction**
I said "this seems to be happening in every single F150 for the last 5+ years."

Should have said "this seems to have happended to the F150 every year for the last 5+ years."

Lots of auto co. put bridgestone tires on their cars & trucks . I had a set on a new 2004 z-71 chev truck & my wife has a set on a 2005 nissan path finder with over 50000 miles on them still have a lot wear lift.I have a set on my 2007 tundra they seem to be good tires.A person can't blame a truck for failed tires.

Thanks for your opinion. I find it rather shalloow thought in content. I now have an engineer's report showing that in fact the tire failed.

I do not care what vehicle you find a tire like this as OEM, but somone has to have excercised due care and diligence in choosing such. Just think if it was your skin that succumed to this situation.

Best regards,

I do feel for your loss. But i can remember Firestone problem it was big. Also have had problems with goodyear & general. It could be any tire on any truck or car.I still can't see toyota was at fault.
