That was about 9 mos. ago, and I hear they are better now, but I'm not willing to even try that again. And your statement about Nav-TV seem correct. Buddy had one in his Cayenne and even worse experience than mine with Dension GW. His (our) dealer was even threatening to void his warranty if he didn't remove it. I do business in Australia and Singapore and got a chance to try the Mobridge in a dealer demo Cayenne. The Porsche PCM itself is a bit clunky by design but the mObridge kit did a good job of dealing with the interface difficulties, I thought and was responsive to controls, unlike the others. And unlike the others, it doesn't crash. The dealer said they'd worked with those guys directly working out any potential issues. It's interesting, too, I saw there that customers there typically pay well over $100K just for base trim Porsche, so there really is no tolerance for bad quality. So I can't wait to buy a kit here. I heard a shop by the name of Audiophonics (sp? have not found their website or listing) down here in So Cal might carry them (hoping) so I may go by there (if I can find them) and bug them a bit to get a move on it. BTW, my wife mostly drives the Cayenne but I try to steal it from her as often as possible and we take it on trips. I really like the vehicle, so nice, in most ways better than Q7, I believe. X5 is also great, but only with V8 and then it gets almost as expensive as Cayenne. New 6cyl X5 is a dog. Maybe if/when BMW put the turbo-6 in it (US model), then I would consider.

I can see the content of the iPod and goto the track I wanted but it won't play. Resetting the Mobridge by unpluging the power didn't help. Unpluged the iPod and it won't play the track neither. Reset the iPod then everything works fine. I never had that problem with my iPod, but again I've never put it in the truck of the car, it is hard-drive based and vibration might be the problem. Need to talk to Mobridge and figure that out. Will let you know more my after I another week or 2 of using it. |
