First Look: 2009 BMW 1 Series Convertible - Some six months from now, the 2009 BMW 1 Series will be introduced to America, a smaller, leaner and sportier driving experience from Munich. First Drive: 2009 BMW 135i - To put it plainly, the 2009 BMW 135i is more than merely good. It raises the standard of measure for small coupes to a whole new level of excellence. It is one of the purest expressions of the BMW character since the 1971 BMW 2002 tii. (more)

Turns out, Gus quoted a 128 list price. and put the 135i model next to it

The 135i is $41,700 CDN++++++$50K real quick
$34,900 US$

$7,000 dif...Gus didn't even kiss me while BMW was screwing me/Canadians.

A lot of other choices out there, it's off my radar

Sorry to hear that. Good luck with whatever you end up with.

Back when the Lincoln LS (I know, you've probably never heard of it, but it had promise -- since discontinued) first came out, it turned out that a car spec'd the same was $2-3K less expensive in Canada than the U.S. Of course the exchange rate was part of it back in those days, but even with the Canadian excise tax for air conditioning and the various other taxes, it was still way cheaper. A similar thing happened when the Infiniti G first came out -- significantly cheaper in Canada.

Trust the boys from Bavaria to have a different approach.

The lumbar support was finally available in the US for the 325i starting 2004.5 as a stand-alone customer-order option US$400. It has been available in Canada for years CND$400!
