I'm presently considering a used 2005 Cadillac SRX (a loaded v8 with AWD) that's got ~35,000miles on it. I like the styling and the ride. The SRX seems to have the right balance between a refined ride and sporty handling when compared the other SUVs + crossovers. This will be my first general motors vehicle in 15 years. I'm worried about the reliability so I'll get the GM extended bumper to bumper on it. That said... what about routine maintenance service? At ~35,000 miles I am looking at a brake job soon, correct? How do the costs of routine maintenance compare to other vehicles? I've been doing a bit of research on this/other forums and what worries me are things like taking the front end apart to replace a headlamp bulb and such. Are there any unusual/exorbitant expenses with regularly scheduled maintenance with the SRX?
