I've read a couple people report they got a $500 rebate deducted to an already negotiated price below invoice. What is this $500 rebate all about? Is that the college grad rebate? Is there more info about this somewhere?

Replying to: bobalbe1 (May 17, 2008 5:20 am) The internet makes it easier than it used to be but it is still amazing to me how many folks will go into a dealer, unprepared and will consequently get 'screwed' out of a grand or two. Many people forget (or don't care to recognize) that the 'poor' car dealer while he is not making a bunch of profit on pretty much anything he might sell you, is still entitled to (and generally deserving of) a 'reasonable' profit. |

Replying to: southpaw75 (May 18, 2008 5:08 am) from Nissan: Qualified recent or soon-to-be graduates can receive $500 Nissan cash back on the purchase or lease of a new 2008 Rogue, Altima (excluding Hybrid and Altima Coupe), Xterra, Sentra or Versa. they are offering a lease deal... it doesn't look like a great deal to me as they want 3K down... but then I don't lease, prefer to drive them for 8 or 9 years. |

| We went and test drove a Rogue last weekend and internet dealer gave me $300 under invoice pricing. Told him we'd think about it...well, he just called me and said that this Saturday-Monday, an add'l $500 off the low price he already quoted is available from Nissan as part of a Memorial Day event. I think we might go ahead and do it. | |

I'm looking at trading in my ford Edge 07 for either a rogue or Altima.. the following is estimated for a 2wd SL with prem package in iridium graphite [tho I really would like the blue] Rogue estimated price $24,500 estimated trade in value for edge with 12k miles $21,000 Diff in price $3500 or so. <this price what I would be paying tax on Financing is far far better then the Edge under 310/month 4 72 months or under 355 for 60 months. The salesman I'm working I have known for a while now, He is very nice and easy to get along with, very little pressure from him. I cannot say the same for other sales people at the same place though. but anyway.. Wendle also has a Rogue that is awd but cheaper then the 2wd that I test drove. I also am looking at the Altima, but I've grown up with and driven trucks, minivans for the most part. Sedans really arent my cup of tea one hand, but I really like the current mpg bar on the Altima, but dont like the steering wheel's proximity to ne [I tend to like having the seat high as possible. Sadly, why the engineers made seat height adjust ment also move the seat forward when one want to only go up... bothers me]. The Altima is also cheaper then the Rogue 2wd SL, but again. I'm not sure I like have a sedan. I've never been a fan of then partially due to the trunk sticking out behind the rear window. So many factors... The other nissan dealer wont do a test drive unless theres a deal involved and I felt badly treated by Jaremko. I think I've got a pretty good deal worked out, but should I do more research or what? Advice and opinions? |
